More Students Want Online Schools Nowadays

There are now continued developments in online schools as more and more students want this so-called new system of education via the online educational system – where students just stay at home and attend virtual or online classes. This new development is really having an impact on the positive side of keeping the children from dangers in the streets as well as saving transportation expenses.

There are now about 400 kindergarten up to 12th grade students in Olympia that transferred to full-time online education in public schools. These students are residents of North Thurston and Tumwater districts. Those families which have computers at home connected to the internet are free to join since the online education program in public schools are also funded by other funding agencies.

In fact, there are a recorded 208 number of students who transferred to online schools in North Thurston, according to Courtney Schrieve, the district spokesperson. Also in Tumwater, there are a recorded 92 students. Half of these students are also former homeschoolers.

District spokeswoman Sue Haskin said there are also 43 students in Olympia that are now transferred in other districts that offer online education. Right now, iConnect online school has enrolled 70 students The students come from Olympia and other schools. Both districts have online schools but neither one of them is operating full time online school, it was learned.

Olympia started its online education using the so-called iConnect Academy two years ago. Even the Tumwater High Schools already offer online education for students who needs to keep their credits – most especially on students who have credits to catch up. This means the school has good plans as well as committed to educating the child the highest possible way. Still when they become professionals in the future they also have good CV resume.

Haskin said even the district officials have noted a good number of students who are now enrolled in full online public education program Haskin said the district is not so much in a hurry to create a fully-operated online school but they are also considering in the near future.
