In West Hartford, the Wolcott Elementary School has already programmed a 2-year environment program to support the greening project in many schools. One of the plans the school instituted is the reduction of energy waste which is also very vital. To start with the program in a rightful manner, teachers have to limit the usage of electric current by simply adjusting the use of many appliances. Recent surveys conducted show that many of the biggest consumption in schools are the uncontrolled usage of appliances and other school gadgets and equipment.

The second program the school wants to impose is in education. The schools prepared a program to properly educate students regarding the importance of protecting the environment. The Wolcott Children’s Forest as well as the Connecticut’s “No Child Left Inside” program. They are also support by many schools such as in Manchester, Windsor, Tolland, Glastonbury and Hartford. The program has many benefits according to experts in environmental protection. Among those benefits is reduction of the so-called green house gases, nutrition benefits. Calvin Leete Elementary Schools also supporting the environment crusades of many schools in the US by conducting field trips to rivers, parks and forests. This tour activity is aimed at raising awareness on the recent conditions of nature.
