Bilingual schools are now widely recognized in many parts of the world to be among the best promoters of language knowledge transferred from a certain country to another. In fact, through bilingual schools educational programs, many people in non-English countries have learned to speak English fluently. This also opens more doors for beneficial business transactions. Many graduates of the program have also become language interpreters and this resulted to more positive business transactions.

The following are different bilingual school types or models you should learn carefully if you are planning to enrol in this type of institution.

- Transitional bilingual education – This type of learning process under bilingual education involves concentrated study of children in subject matters such as Science, Math, and Social Studies using their native language for three consecutive years before they adopt the English language. This is to ensure than students won’t fall behind in many subject matters. Many of these programs which involve transitional models are overwhelmingly found in the US.

- Two-way or Dual language bilingual education - This program is designed for native and non-native speakers in English. This bilingual school program helps native and non-native speakers in English to become bilingual. The Centre for Applied Linguistic in its 2005 survey said half of those into the program are native speakers of English and the other half are speakers of minority languages such as Chinese or Spanish. Although, in the US, less permitted programs include dual language programs. This, despite of the fact that they are very helpful in helping students to learn effective English.

- Late Exit or Developmental bilingual school education – This bilingual school type is for students that are not native speakers of the English language. This type of program is also less common as compared to transitional program.
