Flight School Educational Offer

Find Flight Schools in Your Area...

You can study at different institutions to obtain flight classes.

Four-Year College/University

The flight classes on the universities and colleges are usually certified under the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 141. If you want to attend flight courses on a high quality level, the best option is to study at a college or university. It both combines aviation courses together with the traditional academic courses. Some colleges and universities requires a selections to be admitted to the course. If you attend a college or university, you can earn a college credit, which is of a higher degree in addition to a pilot certificate or rating. It is also a good choice if you have no degree, but wish to have a career in the aviation industry. Most airlines prefer applicants who have obtained a four-year Bachelor’s degree. To become an airline pilot you don’t even need to have the major in aviation or an aerospace related program.

Two-year Community/Junior College

Some two-year colleges offer flight-training programs. The students will receive a pilot certificate or rate after they have successfully finished the program. Often these graduates are going to a four-year college or university to get more specialized. The two-year community/junior colleges are typically certified under the FAR Part 141. You can receive financial aid to attend this college.

Flight Academy

Flight academies offer their students intense flight training programs. Some flight academies offer financial aid to their students.

U.S. Military Service

The military branches in the U.S. military service are for example: the National Guard, Coast Guard, Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force, and Reserve. The branches all have a flight training program that trains the individuals how to fly in aircraft, which can be a helicopter, fighter jet, or a large transport aircraft. The flight training program has a rigorous process and the U.S. military service pays millions of dollars for each student to offer them the best flight program. To become a military pilot you need to have a college degree.

Other educational offers are from the Airline Owned Academy, and from Fixed Based Operators
