Driving School Career Opportunities

Find Driving Schools in Your Area...

Driving schools do not only teach people how to drive, but they also prepare people for a certain number of careers.

Driving instructor: all persons who would like to become a driving instructor, first need to take classes in driving, safety and all other classes which are necessary.

Chauffeur / Taxi driver: this career also requires knowing all the safety rules, because you will transport your passengers to their desired destination. As a chauffeur or taxi driver you might be working independently, for your own company, or for a company where you will work ‘on-call’. A chauffeur or taxi driver needs to dress neatly, know the environment where they are driving, at all times they need to act cordially (also under pressure), and sometimes they also need to follow the tight schedules.

Bus driver: as a bus driver you also need to attend a driving school to obtain the Commercial Driving License (CDL).

If you are specialized for a school bus driver, you need to undergo an additional training to learn how to manage children, respond to emergencies, and to administer first aid.

Transit and intercity bus drivers need to follow an extensive on-the-job training.

Truck drivers: these drivers transport goods from on location to the other. Usually these drivers transport these goods over long-distances. To become a truck driver you need to follow a driving school or traffic school to attain a Commercial Driving License (CDL) which is issued by the state or location of the driver. There are also local delivery truck drivers. Mostly they don’t need the CDL. Local delivery drivers also work more regular hours.

Stunt driver: the traffic school or driving school improves their driving performance, which includes all the safety and handling skills.

Recreational race driver: learn how to race safely on a closed driving-course.
